SOTHA NAKABAYASHI (JAPAN)
Sohta Nakabayashi was born in Tokyo, Japan, in 2000 and began studying guitar at the age of three with teacher Takayuki Azuma.
In 2004, she met guitarist Manuel Babiloni on one of her tours in Japan. Babiloni became her mentor and maintained constant contact with her through regular meetings, both in Spain and Japan, until his sudden death in 2015.
As a performer, he has given more than 50 concerts in Finland, Austria, Sweden, Japan, the United States and Spain , as well as master classes.
He has more than 20 international awards including first prize at the XXl Texas Guitar Competition (United States), XIII Ciutat d'Elx International Guitar Competition (Spain), XIII Sarajevo International Guitar Competition (Bosnia Herzegovina), XIX Uppsala Internationella Gitarrfestival Competition (Sweden), XIII Alirio Díaz International Guitar Competition (Italy) and of course the CIGA Junior 22 of the Alhambra Guitarras Foundation, among others.
