Career and Roots: Between Cartagena and Melilla
Diego Martínez Galindo, widely known by his stage name Diego Martín, was born on January 24, 1979, in Cartagena (Murcia), although it was actually in Melilla where his musical journey truly began. In fact, his third album is titled Melicia, a homage commemorating these two lands that form a fundamental part of his life and songwriting.

And so, with a guitar and basic music fundamentals, he penned his first songs: tracks filled with raw emotion, personal stories, and experiences rooted in youthful passion.
Chart Success and Musical Breakthrough
Guided by producer Xavi Pérez (renowned for his work with Antonio Orozco), Diego landed his first record deal and launched a successful career that quickly paid off. Selling nearly 100,000 copies of his debut album, VIVIR NO ES SÓLO RESPIRAR, the artist established himself during a particularly challenging era for the music industry.
Featured on this debut release, the hit single "Déjame verte" achieved Digital Gold certification. Furthermore, the track was selected for the original soundtrack of the feature film Café solo o con ellas, directed by Álvaro Díaz Lorenzo, which became the highest-grossing Spanish film of the year and earned accolades at the Málaga Film Festival.
The artist's definitive consolidation came with his follow-up album, PUNTOS SUSPENSIVOS, supported by a nationwide tour across Spain with over 100 live concerts. This record spawned multiple chart-topping singles and earned him the prestigious Premios Dial award.
