CAFÉ QUIJANO
They have been on the road for more than 20 years crowning top lists, celebrating awards and achieving international nominations... But the most important thing is that Café Quijano has been making us happier for more than two decades and performing our music all over Latin America, the United States and Spain.
Manolo, Oscar and Raúl Quijano became internationally popular at the dawn of the new millennium with 'La Lola', becoming the first Spanish group to be nominated for an American Grammy in 2000. Two decades after those first big hits, Café Quijano continue to enjoy global recognition from the industry and an unwavering loyalty from the general audience. And this is because the group continues to grow and macerate their talent and inspiration, as evidenced by their recent album 'Manhattan' which they are currently touring around the country... an album that last March reached Number 1 in physical sales just a few days after it hit the shops. 'La Jamaicana', 'Ven a ver amanecer', 'Manhattan' and 'Ayer se fue' are the new hits of Café Quijano, active and ready to celebrate their status as classic artists of our music.
Café Quijano started to record their first demos in 1996, achieving their first successes in 1998 with their first album of the same name and especially in 1999 with the album 'La extraordinaria paradoja del Sonido Quijano'. In those years of cultural globalisation, the trio from León imposed itself as the group which has best represented Latin music from our country. And without a doubt, this gift has made them go through a long-lasting career which has remained faithful to their musical principles... whether making classic boleros or creating contemporary pop music which is inevitable to enjoy at the best parties.
Nine studio albums, one live album, dozens of awards and nominations are the backbone of a solid career and a sweet present. Collaborations with artists of the stature of Armando Manzanero, Santana, Celine Dion, Joaquín Sabina, Mijares or with new generation groups such as Taburete guarantee the respect and artistic admiration that the group from León continues to arouse among artists from different continents and eras.
After some difficult times, Café Quijano continue among us to make us celebrate life with their music, their elegance and their loyalty to our Hispanic and Latin music.
