LA PEGATINA
Without a doubt, La Pegatina is the ultimate emotional high you can find on any stage. Their parties are incredibly energetic, fun, and danceable. The band started their journey in 2003 under the name Pegatina Sound, touring the Iberian Peninsula and playing festivals and concerts.
Their first album, "Al carrer!", was released in early 2007. Mixing languages like Spanish, Catalan, and Galician, they collaborated with artists like Manu Chao, Gambeat, Che Sudaka, and Txarango. The result? 4,500 copies sold, 180,000 digital downloads, and a tour that took them to Switzerland, France, Italy, and Spain, where they performed over 250 concerts.
In February 2009, they released their new album, "Vía Mandarina," produced by Kasba Music and recorded at "La Atlántida" studios. Musicians from D'Callaos and El Puchero del Hortelano, among others, collaborated on the album. Once again, they expressed themselves in different languages such as Catalan, Galician, Spanish, Basque, and Portuguese. The 2009 tour ("Vía Mandarina Tour") took them to Spain, England, France, Germany, and Switzerland, among other countries.
The band solidified their position as a phenomenon that breaks all the old foundations of the music industry, constantly engaged with social media and followed by thousands of fans, despite being part of the non-commercial circuit. In early 2010, they received the award for Best Pop/Rock Artist of 2009 from Enderrock magazine and also the award for Best Website (www.lapegatina.com). This gave the project a new boost and established them as a reference group in Europe.
In February 2011, they presented "Xapomelön," the album that would solidify them as one of the greatest national and European bands. On the album, they collaborated with Joan Chaparral, Amparo Sánchez (Amparanoia), and rappers Indigna and the Sey Sisters.
In subsequent albums, they have collaborated with artists such as Mario Díaz, Romi Anauel, Love of Lesbian, Esne Beltza, and the Sicilians Baciamolemani, Dubioza Kolektiv, Capitán Cobarde, Ska-P, Hanggai, Turtle Island, Ms Maiko, Rayden, Oques Grasses, Gambeat, Che Sudaka, Capitán Cobarde, Esne Beltza, and Travis Birds.
In February 2016, they announced "La Gran Pegatina," a big band with the addition of seven new musicians, who performed for five months starting at the Viña Rock festival.
A spectacle and adrenaline-fueled experience, they never tire of spreading joy and madness wherever they go. They have performed in over 35 countries (Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, Uruguay, China, Japan, Canada, and much of Europe) and have played over 1200 concerts in just 18 years of existence.
Their style is eclectic: they effortlessly transition from merengue to rumba or ska, driving the crowd wild with gypsy punk or simply with hooligan chants. Versatile and energetic, La Pegatina has released eight albums, two documentaries, a book, and a live album with La Gran Pegatina.
