Sixth Alhambra Competition to promote the talent of young people

The Alhambra Youth Competition was born in 2013, together with the Asociación Cultural Trujamán and Manufacturas Alhambra S.L.
An initiative to help boost young guitarists in their acting career. A competition with prizes to help develop the musical career of the contestants through the contribution of: musical material, study bags through financial contribution, help in the purchase of the guitar or scholarship to study a master class at the Festival International Guitar José Tomás-Villa de Petrer 2019.
The rules of the VI edition of the Alhambra International Youth Competition, organized by Guitarras Alhambra and the Trujamán Cultural Association, can be found on the website of the International Guitar Days of Valencia 20188 www.jornadasdeguitarra.com.
The young guitarists can register until November 23, 2018 in each of the four categories A, B, C and D.
The ages limit to register to each one of the categories are: Category A of up to 10 years, B up to 13, C up to 17 and D up to 23 years. Each of them will be composed of an eliminatory phase and the final one.
The Eliminatory events will be held on Friday, November 29 (Rector Peset Residence Hall) and the Final (Palau de la Música) on Saturday, December 1, at morning and afternoon times, for all categories.
As in the version for adults, the contestants will not be able to repeat compositions and will have to interpret them by heart, except the smallest, in category A, where it is not compulsory, and in category B, where they will have to play by heart in at least one piece of each test.
The repertoire of the first phase will be free for all categories, however `for the final, the repertoire will be free for categories A and B, but with the obligation to interpret several styles in categories C and D.
