The little brother of the Alhambra International Guitar Competition
• The competition is organized into four categories. The age of twenty-three (23) years old has been established as the maximum limit to participate.
• The eliminating rounds will take place on Friday 25 - November and the final audition on Saturday 26.
The Alhambra International Guitar Competition for young people takes place in the framework of the International conferences of guitars of Valencia (JIGV).
The terms of the IV edition of the Alhambra International Guitar Competition for Young people are available, organized by the Trujamán Cultural Association, in the framework of International conferences of guitars of Valencia 2016 and where the application to participate may be submitted until November 15, 2016.
In 2013, the Trujamán Cultural Association and Manufacturas Alhambra S.L. set in motion this initiative in order to contribute to encourage young guitarists in their musical career. A competition which in its fourth edition, adds a new prize where the category D winner, not being over 23, will perform a presentation concert in JICV.
The competition is divided into several categories: A, B, C and D for up to 10, 13, 17 and 23 years old respectively, where each category will consist of a preliminary and final round.
As in the adult version, competitors may not repeat compositions and will have to play them from memory, except for the smallest contestants, in the category A, which this is not mandatory, and in the category B, where they must play at least one piece of each test from memory.
The repertoire of the first phase will be free for all categories. However, in the final round, the repertoire will be free only for categories A and B, but with the requisite of interpreting different styles in categories C and D.
A competition with valuable prizes for young people, where everyone gets a diploma, in addition to several scholarships based on financial contribution, as well as discounts, bonus, and batches of products of Alhambra Guitars, Royal Classic Strings and Piles Editorial Musical.
