Different options for playing the guitar depending on the style

The taxonomy of the Spanish guitar will never be free of debate, but a valid classification could be based on the type of string. First, there are those that use nylon strings, replacing the animal guts used in the past. The classical guitar uses this type of string, as does the flamenco guitar, a variant of the former adapted to the needs of this style. The nylon-string guitar also adapts well to classical music, tango, and various world music, such as ranchera. Second, there are guitars with steel or other metal strings. This is what primarily differentiates the acoustic guitar from the classical guitar, producing a higher-pitched sound, while the nylon strings give the instrument a softer sound. The acoustic guitar originated in the United States, and it's no surprise that it's perfectly suited to styles from that country, such as country, blues, jazz, and rock. As an anecdote, the acoustic guitar is credited to Christian F. Martin and Orville Gibson, names every guitar lover is more than familiar with. Thus, each type of guitar allows us to play a wide variety of genres and styles, so the author will have plenty of room to maneuver, whatever his or her choice.
