Tips for playing classical guitar better
As in the world of sports, quality is more important than quantity. Below are some tips for playing the guitar better:
- A good teacher is always needed, as a bad one will hinder the student's progress. The same can be said of self-taught players: only geniuses learn on their own. The result will be the same: the guitarist will stagnate.
- A good musician will always be attentive to everything related to their guitar, especially if they are part of a band. Only then will they achieve the best connection with the audience and their colleagues.
- An aspiring musician should perform the same exercises or practice the same chords every day, regardless of the monotony. Even so, other exercises can always be incorporated to learn new chords and improve their quality.
- There's life beyond guitar music, so from time to time it's a good idea to play another instrument to gain a different perspective on the instrument. Besides being fun, it increases creativity, especially for composers.
- To improve, things must also be changed, for example, by experimenting with new techniques or tunings. This way, the guitarist, in addition to increasing their effort, will improve their creativity.
- Finally, the importance of staying in shape must be emphasized. A guitarist who is physically fit will be able to play for a greater number of hours with great quality than one in poor shape, who will soon lose their position, find their guitar heavy, and their music will also sound bad.
