Commitment to the Environment
Manufacturas Alhambra's commitment to the environment is evident in all areas and daily activities of the company.
It's not a question of image but a commitment to survival, as the raw material for our instruments is wood, and therefore a fundamental part of our future depends on the sustainability and rationality of our operations and the utilization and optimization of our resources.
All of Manufacturas Alhambra SL's wood suppliers are recognized as reputable companies in the sector, most of which hold environmental certifications that ensure reforestation . Depending on the country of origin of the wood, each supplier complies with current regulations. For example, all of our Indian Rosewood imports come from government public auctions, where our suppliers purchase logs that are sawn in India according to our specifications. Another example is our ebony supplier, which by law contributes an annual amount equivalent to a percentage of its turnover, which the government allocates to reforestation.
The pursuit of resource optimization also results in better utilization of purchased wood . This policy is manifested in several ways:
-
The fact that many pieces come cut to the required measurements (customs regulations in the countries of origin require that wood be exported as finished pieces of a maximum size) ensures that the initial processing and sawing work is carried out in the country, thus promoting its development.
-
Having a wide range of models makes it easy to correctly classify all woods according to their qualities.
-
The varnishing plants, which are cleaned weekly, have a closed water circuit that collects excess varnish applied to the guitar. This water is reused after treatment in the treatment plant the company has installed since before its use was required by law.
-
Suction system. Briquetting. All cutting and sanding processes are handled by a system that extracts wood scraps and dust, transporting them through pipes to a silo where they are hydraulically compressed into cylindrical pieces. This waste is used by local bakers as fuel for their ovens. Surplus briquettes not consumed by the bakers, as well as other wood scraps (sawmills deliver unusable parts of the log along with the planks), are used as raw material for heating the facilities during the winter.
Hazardous materials, such as glues and varnishes, are collected and treated by specialized companies at authorized facilities.

Solar panels:
Solar energy, also known as photovoltaic energy, is a source of electrical energy that is characterized by being renewable, since it uses the radiation emitted by the sun as a resource to transform it into electricity. All of this, through Photovoltaic installations ; systems that are composed of equipment such as solar panels , batteries, among others.
That's why, at Manufacturas Alhambra, SL, we wanted to contribute to the well-being of our planet and offer the best musical service while respecting and caring for nature.
In summary, these are the main characteristics of the environmental impact of solar energy:
Reduces air pollution
Conventional electrical energy is obtained by burning fossil fuels, as well as through nuclear reactions. All of these processes cause various types of pollution, including air pollution. Therefore, using solar energy greatly reduces air pollution.
The result is that up to 20,000 tons of greenhouse gases are avoided for each home powered by solar energy. This also improves the quality of the air we breathe.
Reduce fuel use
As mentioned, solar energy does not require the use of fuel of any kind, as it uses a technological system that transforms solar radiation into electricity. Therefore, by using this type of system, fuel use is reduced. Best of all, the resources required are completely free, clean, and renewable.
Reduces the destruction of ecosystems
Another benefit of solar energy for the environment is that, by using this type of energy, ecosystem destruction is reduced. This is because, if there is less demand for conventional electricity, the construction of refineries and nuclear plants is reduced, thus avoiding the felling of trees and the destruction of ecosystems.
Another benefit of solar energy is that it also reduces water pollution associated with the production of fossil fuels.
Help combat global warming
As a result of the reduction of greenhouse gases, solar energy directly and indirectly influences the reduction of global warming. Best of all, photovoltaic cell systems require the high temperatures emitted by the sun to operate and transform that energy into electricity.
It does not generate noise pollution
Another way solar energy benefits the environment is by reducing noise pollution, which is quite common with other types of energy due to all the processes involved. Therefore, when using solar energy in isolated homes or other locations, this benefit can be extremely useful.
